Diwali a Silent Massacre

Diwali is spent bursting crackers, giving sweets and snacks, enjoying by all means. Yet this year I’m just gonna just stick with sweets and snacks. NO crackers!. It’s not waste of MONEY,It’s not because I’m going Green or whatever. You see, I have a pet. her name is “SHYNI” she’s my most favorite person  on Earth. She’s amazing!!! Truly because even when I get down from my bike she can make out it’s me. even when she’s 50 ft away. one whistle and she can hear it from 50- 70 ft away, her ears are tuned to sounds that have high frequency. (That’s why you should always name your dog with two syllables).
She stands bold against everything before her! But then I realized last diwali after bursting crackers all day. When I went home she wasn’t happy or pleased to see me.It was as if..
She gave me this look . “Ohhh you were one of them!”. I was puzzled. I thought she would have missed me as I was out the whole day,she didn’t even bother to greet me.
I felt as if I did something wrong. but let it go. later one day I was reading through articles on web. I came across an article. After reading it I had tears in my eyes. believe me I get them often. but that’s not a big deal. what it taught me.even if I had missed it by the slightest gap I won’t have ever felt about it.
Did you know?
The frequency range of dog’s ear is approximately 40 Hz to 60,000 Hz. Which is actually inaudible to the human ears. it’s so low. and imagine us bursting crackers.we humans close our ears.to the sound. poor girl she’s unable to. I felt so bad.
I thought so what it’s no big deal it comes once a year only. imagine having a heart attack every time you burst a bomb or cracker. because that’s what they go through.
People spend their lives trying to have fun killing something. It’s been so since the ice age. I am not planning to change that.
I just feel sorry for her because. I really don’t like my family members having heart attack every time they burst a cracker!
we call ourselves humans?
do we ever wonder how the street dogs disappear during diwali alone?
Well they don’t just disappear (poof) into the air!
They are hiding down some ditch, holding on to their lives.Just so that their nightmare will end.these ditches are not soundproof or noise restricted. Its a ditch where they can still hear it.its just that they can do it on their own space.
“Human’s Wish Diwali is like everyday..”
There are lives having traumatic experience, when your jumping up and down with crackers buddy!!
Diwali is a festival of lights, not of sound!
